19 November 2018
On Saturday, November 17, World Socialist Web Site reporters visited a tent camp set up outside of a Walmart near Chico, California, as well as parts of Paradise, California, which was destroyed by the Camp Fire. As of Monday evening, the official death count stood at 77, but nearly 1,000 are still missing. Residents we spoke with expect the death toll to be far higher.
There is growing ager and outrage among residents of the area and beyond at the catastrophe caused by corporate neglect and government indifference.
